Riding habits, 1680s

Riding habits, fairly late in the century, and clearly for women of the court.
About the image below:

What’s interesting about this painting, is that the woman is riding side-saddle, but in fancy dress. At the same time, her hair is long (in the masculine style), and she’s wearing a hat–something only men wore. Women when riding and hunting, adopted the long hair and hats worn by men.
